LANCASTER — A 14-year-old boy was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of shooting three people outside a home in the 4400 block of Sancroft Avenue, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
One victim, a 17-year-old male, was shot in the chest. Two other male victims, 17 and 18, each were shot in an arm.
All three were treated and released from area hospitals, authorities said.
The shootings took place about 12:30 a.m. after a group of juveniles and men approached the suspect and others who had congregated in front of the Sancroft Avenue address.
Police said the approaching group had been at a nearby party but walked off to look for a friend.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg McHenry, curses were exchanged between the two groups. Then shots were fired.
No other injuries were reported.
The suspect was booked at Sylmar Juvenile Hall and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
