School Attendance

In real estate: location, location, location! In education: attendance, attendance, attendance!
Some days in my high school classes in the LAUSD, in the inner city, there are 15 to 20 students absent out of an average of 35 students per class. How can I teach students who are absent?
No one in the media mentions this.
