What Are You Drinking?

“The other night somebody came for dinner and brought a bottle of wine. You never know whether to serve those things or not, so I didn’t. Then Sunday night, I was all alone eating dinner before band practice; I cooked up a hamburger and some fresh asparagus and opened this bottle. It was Orion, a proprietary blend from Roffi Vineyard in Napa. It was just incredible. It tasted like a very rich Syrah, but with tobacco overtones. It had incredible mouth-feel. I took my first sip watching the news, I wasn’t paying much attention, and it just blew me away with its complexity.
