EL PASO — A teacher was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student at a park, police said.
Police wouldn’t give details of the encounter or comment on whether it was consensual. Investigators said they didn’t know yet whether more than one encounter occurred or whether other children might also have been assaulted.
The boy was a student at Camino Real Middle School, where DeeDee Carrisal, 31, taught. She was charged Thursday with aggravated sexual assault and remained in jail Saturday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Carrisal was reassigned to a school district warehouse, district spokeswoman Lucy Araujo said.
