Mission Viejo Team Advances in Junior League

Ashton White pitched a two-hitter and hit a home run to help lead South Mission Viejo to a 9-2 victory over Ed Walsh Little League of Meridien, Conn., in the Junior Little League World Series Thursday in Taylor, Mich.
White, who gave up two unearned runs, finished with seven strikeouts. He also scored three runs.
The victory advanced South Mission Viejo to the next round of the double-elimination tournament where it will face Linda Vista of Guadalupe, Mexico, today.
That game will be a rematch of last year’s Little League World Series final, which Linda Vista won.
