Medical Center Gets Grant to Expand Senior Services

The Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center plans to expand its health day care services for the elderly with a $220,000 grant.
The money from the Archstone Foundation will help the center buy furniture, hire more nurses and increase subsidies for low-income patients who use the center’s weekday services, said services program director Nancy Bosnich.
The day care program offers physical and speech therapy for elderly people who live alone or suffer from physical problems or memory loss. About 25 patients use the services every day, Bosnich said. The grant will help the center increase that number to 50.
