Wyoming Governor Wins Nomination for 2nd Term

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Republican Gov. Jim Geringer held off a challenge from sheep rancher Bill Taliaferro and was nominated for a second term in Wyoming, where Republicans outnumber Democrats 2 to 1.
In another primary race Tuesday in the nation’s least-populous state, Scott Farris, editor of a Roman Catholic newspaper, defeated two other Democrats for the right to challenge Republican Rep. Barbara Cubin, Wyoming’s lone member of Congress.
