S. Mission Viejo Loses First Game

South Mission Viejo managed only two hits and lost to Waco (Texas) Midway, 3-0, in its first game of the Junior League World Series Tuesday in Taylor, Mich.
Jake Weghorst pitched a complete game and Kevin Hatcher hit a two-run home run for Midway. South Mission Viejo plays an elimination game today against Ft. Wayne (Ind.) Georgetown, which lost to to Guadalupe (Mexico) Linda Vista, 7-1.
The double-elimination tournament, which features players 13 and younger, concludes Saturday.
