Cinerama Dome

I am a film editor in Los Angeles and a longtime fan of the Cinerama Dome. I am encouraged by the fact that the Cultural Heritage Commission granted protection to the exterior geodesic dome (Aug. 6), but extremely disappointed that they will allow Pacific Theatres to gut the interior.
The lobby, the screen and the seating are, I believe, as important as the shape of the building itself. It is important that not only the building be preserved but the entire experience as well. As a young kid I will never forget seeing “Camelot” there. I would hope that future generations will be able to share this experience too.
