Bruske Leaves Padres for Las Vegas

Jim Bruske (Antelope Valley College), who was traded from the Dodgers to the San Diego Padres late last month--marking the first trade between the division rivals since 1969--has been sent to triple-A Las Vegas.
Bruske gave up one hit in the final 1 2/3 innings of Las Vegas’ 8-2 victory over Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Double A--David Newhan (Pepperdine) hit his 11th home run and scored three runs for Mobile in a 4-2 victory over Carolina. . . . Pat Bryant (Cleveland) had two hits and scored two runs for Trenton in a 10-5 victory over Harrisburg. . . . Gabe Kapler (Taft, Moorpark) scored three runs and hit two doubles in Jacksonville’s 16-0 victory over Orlando.
Class A--Pete Paciorek (Glendale College) had two hits, including his 26th double, for Rancho Cucamonga in an 8-0 victory over High Desert. . . . Will Skett (Reseda, Valley) had three hits and scored three runs in Dunedin’s 9-2 victory over Kissimmee. . . . Andy Shibilo (Pepperdine), promoted to Peoria, earned his first victory, allowing one run over five innings, in a 3-2 victory over Clinton. . . . Chris Garza (Notre Dame) gave up two hits in one inning of relief for Fort Myers in a 6-2 loss to Charlotte.
