Tivoli Industries Inc.: The Santa Ana designer and manufacturer of specialty lighting and related products said it lost $186,577, or 4 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, contrasted with a profit of $148,949, or 3 cents a share, a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended June 30 declined 25% to $2.1 million from $2.8 million.
For the nine months, Tivoli posted a net loss of $34,749, or 1 cent a share, contrasted with net income of $373,140, or 9 cents a share, for the comparable period of the prior fiscal year. Sales were flat at $7.3 million.
The company attributed the loss primarily to weaker market conditions in gaming and theatrical markets, caused by delays in customer construction schedules. Expenses also were higher because of product introductions and increased sales and marketing activities, the company said.
