Spotlight: 3rd Home Theater Officer Sentenced in Fraud

Anaheim-based Home Theater Products International Inc. former Chief Executive Paul R. Safronchik was sentenced to 37 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal fraud charges arising from a plan to falsely inflate earnings. He is the third company officer to be sentenced stemming from the fraud. Safronchik, 37, wasn’t available for comment. An outside auditor accused Home Theater in 1995 of falsely reporting $5.9 million in earnings over a four-year period during which it lost millions.
