The city is accepting applications to fill a seat on the Planning Commission.
The vacancy was created after last month’s appointment of former Commissioner Larry Forester to the City Council, said Becky Burleson, deputy city clerk. Forester replaced Gerard Goedhart, who had to give up his council seat when he moved to Lakewood, she said.
Candidates should submit applications to the city clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Aug. 6.
Applicants must be residents of Signal Hill and be registered city voters 30 days before the appointment and throughout the commissioner’s term, which lasts until May 31, 2001.
Applications are available at City Hall, 2175 Cherry Ave.
Information: (562) 989-7305.
