B&B; Wake-Up Call

As I read your “Readers Recommend” column (July 12), I couldn’t help but compare the prices of the two bed and breakfasts listed in United States and Canada to that listed in Ireland.
The first two ranged from $85 to $180, while the one in Ireland was $28 to $34. Yes, the Ireland price was per person; however, even at the top price of $34, it would still, at $68 per couple, cost less than those in the U.S. and Canada.
B&Bs; are a wonderful concept, and my husband and I have stayed in many in Europe. However, we bypass them here. I really don’t think I could sleep peacefully knowing I was paying $180 a night for the ambience, with breakfast included.
