Poinsettia School to Hold Carnival
The Poinsettia School will hold a carnival Sunday with bluegrass music, a karate demonstration, Irish dancers and games and prizes.
Money from the carnival--which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the campus--will raise money for the Poinsettia Parent-Teacher Organization, which helps sponsor enrichment programs for the school.
Those programs include the school library, a music teacher and a new technology program that will give students in all grades a chance to use computers at the elementary school.
The carnival will feature music by Santa Barbara-based Bluegrass.com, headed by Poinsettia fifth-grade teacher, Kevin Alvarado; Irish dancing by students of the Claddagh School of Irish Dance, many of whom are Poinsettia students, and a silent auction.
The campus is at 350 N. Victoria Ave. in Ventura.
