A proposed 1,750-home development next to the Santa Ana River will be discussed at tonight’s meeting of the West Newport Beach Assn.
The site of Newport Banning Ranch is currently a 400-acre oil field. Taylor Woodrow Homes has filed an application with Orange County to build a subdivision on 206 acres. Included in the plan are an elementary school, public parks, bluff-top trails, a village plaza-style shopping center and a 75-room bed-and-breakfast overlooking the Pacific.
The 7 p.m. public meeting will be in council chambers at Newport Beach City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd. Information: (714) 548-4560.
