A special education teacher with the Duarte Unified School District has been appointed to the board of the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.
Marina Tse, an outspoken activist who serves on both the Monterey Park library board and the state Board of Education, will serve on the nonpartisan board overseeing the small federal agency until 2001.
Tse was appointed by board president and former California Congressman Tony Coelho.
“I feel this is a great opportunity to continue helping people with special needs,” Tse said.
As member of the agency’s board, Tse will oversee a body that coordinates and promotes public and private efforts across the nation to enhance employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
