Track and field athletes who were not able to participate at Saturday’s rained-out portion of the Arcadia Invitational will get their chance April 25, without having to miss the Orange County Championships scheduled the same day at Trabuco Hills.
According to Southern Section Commissioner Dean Crowley, a rule that forbids athletes from competing in two meets on the same day was waived during an executive committee meeting Wednesday. Crowley said the waiver only affects athletes previously entered in the evening invitational portion of the Arcadia meet.
“If they were entered in the night events they can compete,” Crowley said. “We’re not waiving it for the schools or the athletes. We’re setting the rule aside because of the weather.”
