Reelected by the City Council to a second yearlong term as mayor, Raul Godinez II is the first person in 15 years to serve a consecutive term as the city’s chief executive.
“It’s been a tremendous honor to represent my hometown as its mayor,” he said.
“I’m very flattered that my colleagues have expressed their support of my leadership on the council by electing me to another term as mayor.”
Godinez is campaigning against Rep. Howard Berman (D-Mission Hills) for the Democratic congressional nomination.
