To thank the community for its support, Christopher’s Place, Ventura County’s sole home for people living with HIV and AIDS, will host a first anniversary open house Thursday.
During the celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., people can enjoy desserts and take a tour of the 104-year-old landmark Queen Anne home.
Operated by the Serra Project, the home at 856 E. Thompson Blvd., Ventura, opened on April 17, 1997.
Also included in the festivities will be the presentation of a $35,000 grant from MAC Cosmetics’ AIDS Fund to provide food at the home.
Members of a new development advisory committee--made up of Ventura County business owners and residents--will be introduced at the event. Real estate broker Jeff Seber is chairman of the committee.
For more information, call Christopher’s Place at 641-1022.
