Driver Held in Crash That Killed 2 Women

The driver of a vehicle that slammed into a car near Griffith Park, killing two elderly women, was in stable condition in the jail ward of County-USC Medical Center after being booked for investigation of murder, police said Friday.
Johnny Erentreich, 40, was believed to have been under the influence of drugs when the vehicle he was driving rear-ended a car stopped at Riverside Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard on Thursday night, LAPD Officer Mike Partain said. The names of the women were not released.
