Walker’s Runs Pace Monroe Victory

Vinny Walker rushed for 294 yards in nine carries and scored on runs of 49, 10, 72 and 86 yards and on an 86-yard fumble return Friday night in Monroe High’s 56-13 nonconference rout of Wilson, the defending City Section 3-A Division champion.
Backfield mate George Garcia added 170 yards in seven carries and scored on runs of 56 and 74 yards.
Monroe (2-0) rushed for 549 yards in 26 carries from a double-wing formation.
The Vikings scored on their first five possessions in building a 42-6 halftime lead.
