Adobe’s Earnings Exceed Forecasts

Adobe Systems Inc. reported better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter earnings on strong sales for its desktop publishing software for both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Revenue rose 27% to $230 million in the quarter ended Aug. 29, from $180.9 million. Adobe makes software that allows computer users to create documents with sophisticated graphics. Shares of the San Jose-based firm rose $4 to close at $49.75 on the Nasdaq stock market.
