Mary Lou Morey, the city clerk since 1975, will retire Dec. 19, she announced this week. Morey, 65, said she plans to travel and pursue hobbies and may consider working part-time in the future.
“I feel like it’s time to do some other things,” Morey said Friday. “I’ll miss everyone here at the city, but I’ve reached retirement age and I think it’s time.”
Westminster Mayor Frank G. Fry Jr. said that Morey will be missed. “We’ll be very sorry to see her go,” Fry said. “She’s done a beautiful job for us, and also been a mother figure to a lot of people at City Hall.”
