Bell-Jeff 35, Daniel Murphy 32--David Barsumyan scored two touchdowns, including an 81-yard kickoff return, for the Guards (1-3) in a Santa Fe League opener at Burroughs High.
Barsumyan’s first score came on a 33-yard pass from Richard Tobias in the second quarter. His kick return opened the second half and gave Bell-Jeff a 29-8 lead.
Murphy (0-4) responded with three touchdown drives to make it close but was hindered by 152 yards in penalties.
