Acting Solicitor General Announces Resignation

WASHINGTON — Acting Solicitor General Walter Dellinger announced Wednesday that he will return to teaching in September. Dellinger, 56, said he would conclude his work as overseer of the government’s court appeals by appearing Aug. 11 before the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals to defend the Food and Drug Administration’s proposed regulation of nicotine and tobacco products.
No successor has been named.
