Teen Hit by Ride Dies

TULSA, Okla. — A teenage amusement park worker was killed Friday night when he was hit by a ride after he apparently slipped.
Jeffrey Chapman, 17, slipped and was struck by a swinging boat ride called “The Typhoon,” officials said. He was then pinned beneath the ride at Celebration Station amusement park. Police said the ride showed no signs of mechanical failure.
