Rainfall Figures

* Re “Radar Scans Valley for Rainfall Figures,” Nov. 27.
I read with interest your article showing parts of the Valley’s rainfall, according to the Doppler radar scan.
I would like to report to you that this is inaccurate.
I live in the north Valley, near White Oak and Rinaldi streets, and the article shows that we received 0.6 to 1 [inch] of rain. For the same storm I recorded on my rain gauge 1.4 inches.
That is a significant difference, especially for just one storm.
The Doppler radar scan cannot be relied upon for accuracy, especially over the course of an entire winter rainy season.
