Tar Heels Are the New No. 1

North Carolina moved up one spot to replace Duke at No. 1 in the Associated Press poll after the Blue Devils lost, 81-73, at Michigan on Saturday. North Carolina was last ranked No. 1 in the poll during the 1994-95 season.
The Tar Heels have defeated No. 8 Purdue, No. 11 UCLA and No. 19 Princeton.
