Nutcracker Holiday Offers Family Fun

The dream of two longtime residents to create a downtown festival will come together again this weekend for the third annual Anaheim Nutcracker Holiday.
“We wanted to create a hometown tradition for our young people so they can have some Anaheim roots,” said Sally Feldhaus, who founded the Anaheim Nutcracker Holiday with Bob Hernandez.
With the help of a volunteer committee, the family-oriented event will be celebrated today and Sunday on Center Street Promenade. If it rains, activities will be at First Presbyterian Church, 310 W. Broadway.
Activities today include Santa Claus arriving on a firetruck at 2:15 p.m. and a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon at the church. Breakfast tickets are $3. Free entertainment and a choir competition will be from 2 to 8 p.m. The new Anaheim Ballet will perform today at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Freedman Forum.
