UPCOMING PREP EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY : GIRLS’ SOCCER

Two top-five teams will meet today when Esperanza travels to Santa Margarita. Esperanza is led by senior forward Stacy Jarne, who scored the Aztecs’ only goal in their 1-0 season-opening victory over Canyon. Jarne was a first-team All-Sunset League selection and a third-team Southern Section pick last season. Santa Margarita, a favorite to win the Sea View League title, is led by junior forward Sarah Henderson. Saturday, the Irvine Invitational begins with many of the county’s top teams participating, including Capistrano Valley, Esperanza, Woodbridge, Dana Hills and Foothill. The tournament concludes Dec. 13.
