The Michelin man is going on a diet as he approaches his 100th birthday. The advertising character that looks like a stack of tires with arms is getting a new image and will continue to appear in advertising for tire maker Cie Ginirale des Ets Michelin. Known as Bibendum, the logo has changed appearances several times but his waistline was always plump. The new “thinner and smiling” Bibendum is designed to make “an open and reassuring manner,” Michelin said.
