The Lancaster JetHawks defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 6-5, in 12 innings in a California League game at Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday night.
Dave Skeels’ groundout to second in the top of the 11th drove in a run to give Lancaster a 5-4 lead but the Quakes scored in their half of the inning to extend the game.

Shreveport first baseman Benji Simonton (Pepperdine) has been placed on the seven-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, because of a sore shoulder.

Scanning Wednesday’s box scores: TRIPLE A--Left-hander Andrew Lorraine (Hart) struck out eight in seven innings, giving up two runs, but did not get the decision for Edmonton. DOUBLE A--In his second outing for Tulsa, right-hander Brandon Knight (Buena, Ventura College) struck out 12, walked none and allowed seven hits to beat Jackson, 13-1, his first victory for the Drillers. . . . Catcher Keith McDonald (Pepperdine) had two hits, including a home run, for Arkansas.
