Friday ritual: It’s like an adult curfew, the 11 o’clock news. It’s a great speed bump in your social life. Whatever I do is brief and early. If there isn’t any major weather to talk about--a catastrophic marine layer or something--I will go have dinner at La Scala Presto, which is a great pasta restaurant on Riverside Drive. Then I go to Book Star in Studio City and just browse. At the end of the block they have a Starbucks. I usually buy cappuccinos for the night group here.
Saturday mornings: I have two boys, 8 and 10. Everything I do is involved with my children on the weekend because their mother and I do not live together. Saturday morning, I go to the baseball game of my younger one.
Cinemania: We go to a movie almost every week. They like anything; a PG-13 is OK for these guys. They are pretty savvy about special effects and what is real life.
Cooking skills: I can cook a good breakfast. I am good for French toast and eggs and stuff, but later on we will either go out or we will order Chinese food or I’ll go to a Boston Market.
At night: We are homebodies. They rent a movie, and I work on my stand-up. I have a one-man show going into the Actors’ Forum Theater in North Hollywood on Wednesday. The premise is I am making a videotape for my sons, telling them all about myself in the event I don’t get the opportunity later.
Sunday adventure: We take a long bike ride or roller-blade or go to the beach. I let them choose.
