He’s the Lord of the Tour

NEW YORK — The biggest-selling touring performer on the road right now? Why, it’s Michael Flatley, “the Lord of the Dance” himself. Flatley’s tap-and-turn is a sellout in arenas across the country and response to him, after appearances on “Larry King Live” and “The Tonight Show,” has been amazing. Europe, the Far East and Australia are awaiting Flatley’s chest-baring, heel-clicking, hip-flipping, head-tossing performances later this year. . . . Busy doings in the family of the performing Phoenixes: Joaquin Phoenix, of “To Die For” fame, has been in Utah filming Columbia’s “In Too Deep”; Summer Phoenix, so good in “Arresting Gena,” is working at the Sundance Lab, learning the ins and outs of filmable scripts; Rain Phoenix, who toured last year with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is signed on for two movies--an indie, “In the Company of Men,” and Cineville’s “Death Valley” with Eric Roberts. Another Phoenix sister, Liberty, just delivered her own production, a baby boy whom she is raising in Central America.
