China, U.S. Girls to Play Basketball Today in County

A group of girls’ high school basketball standouts, including several from Orange County, will play a Chinese under-20 national team at 3 p.m. today at Westminster High.
Expected to play for the U.S. team are Shaketha Ashley (Compton Dominguez), Bryn Britton (Porterville Manachi), Kelly Boeke (Fountain Valley), Leah Combs (Esperanza), Michelle Greco (La Crescenta Crescenta Valley), Kelli Kobayashi (Mission Hills Alemany) Kelley Kruger (San Clemente), Anna Lembke (Ocean View), Natalie Nakase (Marina), Kristin Geoffroy (Los Alamitos) and Catherine Solorio (Brea Olinda).
A preliminary game at 1 p.m. features the Lancaster All-Stars and a girls’ under-14 team from the Southern California Basketball Club.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students.
