City Officials Complete Park Expansion Plan
- Share via
Grass is sprouting in parts of a Paramount park where four houses stood just months ago.
The city recently purchased parcels totaling 13,000 square feet from the nonprofit Trust for Public Land, which bought and demolished the homes next to Progress Park at 15500 Downey Ave. in order to free up more recreational space. The group helped relocate the former residents.
Half the money for the $500,000 deal came from the city’s recent sale of a vacant 32,000-square-foot lot to a metal products plant on Jefferson Street.
