A Hacienda Heights family endured a night of terror while their captors stole $800,000 worth of computer chips from the victims’ nearby business, authorities said.
The hostage situation ended when two captors were arrested Friday by sheriffs’ SWAT team members who surrounded the home. Authorities are searching for three other gunmen who left the home before police arrived.
None of the family members was injured during the ordeal that began when four armed men and a woman burst into the Dawn Haven Road home about 10:30 p.m, police said.
A 39-year-old woman, her 11-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter were held hostage at the home while three gunmen took the woman’s husband to his business in Industry, where they tied him up and fled with the computer chips. The man freed himself and called authorities.
