Motorcyclist Killed by Oncoming Traffic

SIMI VALLEY — A 24-year-old man died after being hit when his motorcycle crossed into the opposite lane Friday night, police said.
Charles Schulthies of Simi Valley was riding east on Walnut Street about 7 p.m. He crossed over the center of the roadway near Dalhart Avenue and was hit by a westbound vehicle, police said.
Schulthies was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the car, Karissa Michaelson, 18, of Simi Valley, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and was released.
Police were investigating the accident late Friday.
