Animal Control Best on Local Level

Where is our county’s pride? Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks in withdrawing from using our local Animal Control Department will compromise the ability of this department to competently serve the entire county.
As a practicing veterinarian for 35 years in Ventura County, I have had many opportunities to observe the exemplary work of Kathy Jenks and her dedicated staff. They have demonstrated concern and compassion for the well-being of the animals in their charge. Dr. Koerner provides exceptional veterinary care for our injured and abused animal population.
I strongly recommend that the citizens wanting to use adjacent county services consider the effect this move would have on the needy animals in other parts of our county.
