Man Is Stabbed to Death Near La Habra Park

LA HABRA — A 31-year-old La Habra man was stabbed to death by an unknown attacker in the middle of an intersection near Vista Grande Park, police said Friday.
Phillip Chavez was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead at 12:01 Friday morning. Police said he had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Officers responded to a disturbance call at Park Way and Park Place shortly before 11:30 p.m. Thursday and found Chavez, bleeding and staggering in the street, police said.
No witnesses to the attack have come forward, and police have made no arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call La Habra Police Det. Jeff Baylos at (562) 905-9777.
