Dick Feinberg said Thursday that he is resigning as vice president and assistant general manager at Los Alamitos Race Course.
Feinberg, 50, has spent 20 years in the horse racing industry, a majority of it in harness racing. He was Los Alamitos’ general manager for nearly eight years. He has been credited with building the largest satellite wagering network in the world, while overseeing significant growth in the track’s total average handle to $1.2 million nightly.
Last fall, majority owner Edward C. Allred replaced Feinberg as general manager with Rick Henson.
Feinberg and his wife, Cindy, are expecting their second child soon, and Feinberg said he is in no rush to look for work.
“There are a couple of things out there in racing that I am interested in, but that doesn’t mean I won’t go outside the industry,” he said. “This has been in the works for a while and it is happening amicably. It’s just time to do it.”
