Wold Has Game Winner All Around

A double by Greg Wold scored Micah Berger with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Valley North a 6-5 victory over Saugus in a District 20 game Tuesday at Chatsworth High.
Wold and Tim Weigand each had two hits for Valley North (6-1). Wold (1-0) also got the victory in relief of Tom Morefield. Morefield and Wold combined on a five-hitter.
Kevin Bonilla pitched a complete game for Saugus, allowing seven hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Sun Valley 2, San Fernando 0--Salvador Trujillo won a battle of two-hitters by striking out four and walking three for Sun Valley (3-4) in a District 20 game at Poly High.
Jess Moreno and Simon Arredondo combined on a two-hitter for San Fernando (1-5).
Sun Valley scored both its runs on a first-inning error by San Fernando.
Panorama City 5, Newhall-Saugus 1--Adam Kaplan had three hits and drove in two runs for Panorama City in a District 20 game at Monroe High.
Victor Hall had three hits and John Ennis struck out five batters in two innings to earn his third save for Panorama City (5-2).
North Hollywood West 9, Valley South 2--Arnold Vasquez had two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs for North Hollywood West in a District 20 game at North Hollywood High.
Jose Figueroa also had two hits for North Hollywood West (5-3).
Billy McGrath had two hits for Valley South (4-4).
Encino 8, North Hollywood East 1--Tim Leveque (1-1) pitched a six-hitter with no walks for Encino in a District 20 game at Harvard-Westlake High.
Ron Lauer had a two-run home run and Jim Hock had two hits and scored two runs for Encino.
Luke Worgan had three hits and drove in two runs for Encino (3-1).
Valencia 7, Van Nuys South 2--Chris Honaker pitched a complete-game five-hitter and had nine strikeouts for Valencia in a District 20 game at Grant High.
With Valencia holding a 4-2 lead, catcher Brady Burrill drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double in the top of the sixth inning to break the game open for Valencia (5-3).
Van Nuys South falls to 2-5.
