UCI Students’ Ideas on Old Town to Be Aired
- Share via
Graduate students in UC Irvine’s Urban and Regional Planning Program will present recommendations for revitalization of Old Town Tustin at a public meeting tonight.
The recommendations are the result of about five months of intense study by eight graduate students and teacher Mike Ruane, university officials said.
Businesses in Old Town Tustin, the city’s historic downtown area, have struggled in recent years because of the recession and competition from larger stores.
However, the city and the recently formed Old Town Business Assn. have sought ways to boost business activity and preserve the area’s eclectic mix of shops and restaurants.
Tonight’s meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Tustin Civic Center, 300 Centennial Way.
