Farber made quite a splash during her first high school season. A prototypal left-handed leadoff batter for the seventh-ranked Griffins, Farber used her exceptional speed to its full advantage. She slapped and bunted her way to a .559 average, stole 30 bases and scored 32 runs to help Los Alamitos to a 22-6 season and quarterfinal appearance.
