Cabuhat Leads Division II All-Stars

ORANGE — Joyce Cabuhat of Magnolia High won two singles matches as the Southern California Division II team beat the Division I squad, 10-9, on Sunday in the California prep all-star team badminton championships at the Orange County Badminton Club.
Cabuhat beat Sari Hamman of Diamond Bar, 11-6, 7-11, 11-4, then beat Tien Le of Ocean View, 11-6, 11-3.
Le also won in singles, 12-9, 11-7, over Loara’s Melva Wong, 12-9, 11-7.
Ocean View’s Trung Nguyen and Le won, 15-11, 17-14, in mixed doubles and Wook Kim of Garden Grove split two matches in boys’ singles.
Kim won, 15-11, 18-13, and lost, 15-1, 15-7.
