Xytronix Gets FDA Notice for Dental Device

Xytronix Inc. received Food and Drug Administration notice that its new device for detection of severe gum disease is approvable, the firm announced. The San Diego-based firm has signed a letter of intent to license the device to dental implant company Steri-Oss, based in Yorba Linda, for North American distribution. Xytronix shares gained 37.5 cents to close at $1.625 on the American Stock Exchange. Xytronix said final agency approval is contingent on certain manufacturing and labeling requirements. The device is already marketed in Europe.
