Lancaster Paraclete vs. Calvary Chapel
When--5 tonight
Where--Lakewood Mayfair Park
Paraclete (27-3)--The Spirits have won 19 games in a row and 19 consecutive league titles, but they are winless in five trips to the final. Paraclete has five players with at least 20 RBIs, including center fielder Ruth Anderson (.421, 28 RBIs), shortstop Lisa Ament (.563, 20 RBIs) and pitcher Vicki McKay (19-1 and hitting .398 with 26 RBIs).
Calvary Chapel (26-5)--The second-seeded Eagles are making their first appearance in a final. Pitchers Keri Przygocki (14-3, 0.89 earned-run average) and Linda Van Hook (11-2, 0.55) are going to Indiana State and Drexel, respectively. Calvary Chapel, the Olympic League champion, has outscored playoff opponents, 26-0, led by shortstop Christy Ring (.559, 29 runs, 21 RBIs), catcher Amanda Hallaway (.372, 25 RBIs) and left fielder Lindsey Stice (.338).
Key to the game--If Przygocki continues to dominate and her teammates aren’t rattled by a game that could go into extra innings, Calvary Chapel could again send Paraclete home empty-handed.
