Freshmen Erica Sorgi of Capistrano Valley High and Robbie Quinn of Laguna Hills High joined four other Orange County divers who have qualified for high school All-American honors.

The other county divers are Lee Brennan of Aliso Viejo, Raymond Vincent of El Toro, Kellie Brennan of Edison and Michelle Brown of Dana Hills.

Sorgi, representing Division I, and Quinn, of Division II, set meet and division records last month at the Southern Section diving finals.

Jeremy Killion and Jerome Green have signed letters of intent to play basketball at Concordia, school officials announced.

Killion, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 18 points at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Ore., last season. Green, a 6-4 forward, averaged 18 points at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. Jet Quillen, a 6-7 center from Brown County (Ind.) High, also made a commitment to play for the Eagles.

A.G. Longoria has been hired as Saddleback College women’s tennis coach, replacing Bill Otta, who has retired from coaching, school officials said.

Longoria was an assistant for the Gauchos last season. Otta will remain as an instructor.

Saddleback was 29-7 and won the Orange Empire Conference championship the last two seasons. Otta also coached the men’s team for 20 seasons, from 1975-94, winning 15 conference and five state titles.

Longoria coached at Texas Pan American and North Texas from 1976-82. He also coached seven seasons at Irvine Valley College before coming to Saddleback.

Joe Rodriguez has been hired as the boys’ soccer coach at Cypress High, Athletic Director Rob Walker said.

Rodriguez was a varsity assistant for the Centurions last season. He replaces Anthony Russomanno, who resigned after leading Cypress to a 18-5-1 records.
