Couple Who Owned Dogs That Killed Boy Charged in His Death

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The owners of three Rottweilers who mauled an 11-year-old boy to death were charged Friday with involuntary manslaughter.
The dogs apparently escaped from a fenced backyard through an unlatched gate Thursday and attacked Christopher Wilson as he ran for a school bus. His 8-year-old brother and 17 classmates watched from the bus.
The owners, Jeffrey and Sabine Davidson, were charged Friday and ordered held on $25,000 bond. Judge Larry Bengtson said a condition of bond was that the Davidsons may not have dogs and cannot contact witnesses.
According to an autopsy report, Christopher suffered a crushed spinal cord, dog bites, a severed carotid artery and a severed jugular vein. “He had absolutely no blood” when a deputy got to him, said Sheriff Bill Deppish.
Police shot and killed all three of the dogs. Neighbors said the animals had terrorized the rural subdivision for years.
